This Privacy Policy explains how POPOMEE (the “Site”) handles user information in connection with the content and services it provides.
1. Information We Collect or Use
1.1 Server Access Logs
When you access the Site, its web server may record information in access logs, including your IP address, access date and time, requested URL, referring URL, browser and device information, and HTTP status.
1.2 Page-View Counting
The Site uses a temporary identifier to reduce duplicate counts when measuring article views and generating popular-article rankings. This identifier is deleted during the first counting process performed on or after the following day.
1.3 Cookie-Notice Confirmation Records
If you select “Got it” on the cookie notice, the Site records that you acknowledged the notice, a random confirmation ID used to associate confirmations from the same browser, the versions of the policy and notice presented, the type of action, the display language, and the date and time of the action.
1.4 Inquiry Information
If you contact the Site by email, the Site receives the sender’s email address, message, attachments, and other information included in the email in order to respond to and handle the inquiry.
1.5 Display Settings for Web Applications
Some web applications store display settings, such as region, whether online events are shown, and hidden items, in your browser. These settings are not sent to the Site’s server.
2. Cookies
The Site uses cookies to provide basic functions, including remembering the status of the cookie notice and the display language. For cookie names, purposes, retention periods, and deletion methods, please review the Cookie Policy.
3. Purposes of Use
The Site handles the information it collects or uses for the following purposes:
- to provide the Site and its web applications and maintain user display settings;
- to count article views and generate popular-article rankings;
- to detect and prevent unauthorized access, spam, attacks, and other misuse;
- to investigate failures, respond to security issues, and improve the Site and its services;
- to reflect the status of the cookie notice and verify the fact and content of the notice presented;
- to respond to and handle inquiries; and
- to comply with legal obligations and protect the rights of the Site or third parties.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
The Site does not disclose information received through inquiries to third parties without the sender’s consent, except as provided for by applicable law.
5. Retention and Management
- Server access logs: for the period necessary for site operation, failure investigation, and security response
- Identifiers used for page-view counting: until the first counting process performed on or after the day following their creation
- Daily and per-article view counts: for as long as needed as statistical information
- Cookie-notice confirmation records: retained for 24 months and progressively deleted after that period
- Inquiry information: for the period necessary to respond and review related matters
- Web-application settings stored in the browser: until the user deletes them from the browser or resets the application’s stored data
The Site implements access restrictions, encrypted communications, software updates, and other safeguards necessary to help prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss of collected information.
6. Access, Correction, or Deletion of Inquiry Information
If you wish to access, correct, or delete information you submitted with an inquiry, please contact the Site, in principle, from the same email address used for that inquiry. The Site may request identity verification where necessary to prevent disclosure or deletion involving the wrong person. The Site will review the request and respond in accordance with applicable law.
7. Links to External Websites
The Site includes links to external websites, including links used to identify sources of information. After you select a link and leave the Site, the privacy policy of the destination website applies to the handling of information there.
8. Changes to This Policy
The Site may revise this Policy in response to changes in the Site’s services, external services used by the Site, or applicable law. The Site will provide clear notice of material changes and will obtain consent again where required by law.
